Notes SPN II 1.3

Make sure you know how to do the Sandal verbs. Remember: We wear boots in the present tense and sandals in past.

Hints:

Any verb that is usually a boot in the present tense, boots in the past.
But only in the 3rd person singular.

Example: Present tense

Pedir - to ask for.

In present tense:

Yo pido
tu pides
ella/ellos/ud pide

Nosotros pedimos
vosotros pedis
ellos/ellas/uds piden

However, note the changes in this when the preterite tense is applied:

Yo pedi
Tu pediste
el/ella/ud pidio

Nosotros pedimos
vosotros pedisteis
el/ella/uds pidieron

The change is only in the 3rd person.

Repetir
Servir
Competir

Words like:
Dormir
Morir

Will do the same thing, only the o will change to U (not UE like in it's present tense)
