Need to get extra credit on your test?
Do you know the following information for your test?
- el castellano = el espanol
- La region de Castilla es donde se publicaron el pr1mer diccionario oficial del Espanol. Por eso, El Castellano tambien se conoce como El espanol.
- Los arabes ocuparon muchos anyos en Espana. Tenian mucha influencia en el lenguaje Espanola.
- Las palabras que empiezan con aj, al, az, etc..son de origen arabe. Por ejemplo: el alfombra, el ajedrez, el azucar - son palabras de la influencia arabe.
- Cristobol Colon trajo arboles de Eucalipto desde Australia a Las Islas Canarias. Los eucaliptos destruyen la tierra y no se puede plantar o cultivar en la tierra en Canarias. Es muy seca.

lunes: 1,2 & 4th pd: Read p. 34 - 35 and complete Exercise #1 - 2 on p.36. Write the question for exercise #1. / / / 3rd pd only: Complete p.14 in your purple book & complete p.13 in your blue book!
martes: 4th pd had to Complete p.14 in your purple book & complete p.13 in your blue book!
miercoles: Nada
jueves: Classes 1 - 3 complete p.39 ex 6 - write the sentences. 4th pd is to complete p.16 in your purple book!
viernes: 1st pd- p.14 purple, p.15 blue book; 3rd pd - p.15 in purple book; 4th pd - p.39 ex: 6
Absent 14/9 (sept): We completed our warm up today. Then listened/watched the EN CONTEXTO dialouge. We completed a worksheet about it. Please ask me about the En Contexto and vocabulary worksheet upon your arrival back to class. We learned how to speak using the phrase, "Yo pienso que..." We did a paired activity using the headphones. You'll have to make up the En contexto worksheet.
Absent 15/9 - 16 / 9 (sept): I took up the homework from yesterday. We worked on the preterite tense with the whiteboards. There were no handouts but we did take notes. Those are listed below. Be sure to study them!
Absent 17/9 (sept): We went over the preterite tense. Completed p.39 ex: #5 and in some classes we completed the workbook page in MP (p.15). There were no new handouts.
Absent 18/9 (sept): We watched an odd video clip and retold the story in the past tense. We went over or turned in the homework, and we watched En Vivo and completed the worksheet that goes with it. Some class will have to complete the En Vivo on Monday as we ran out of time.

miercoles: Decorate your SHOPPED bag!
jueves: Complete the back of that SER vs ESTAR page that we worked on in class! Decorate your SHOPPED bag with pictures!
viernes: Nada
Absent 14/9 (sept): We read p. 34 - 35 and completed the Comprendiste questions. I did not take this up. Afterwards, we described famous people by using the vocabulary words from the lesson. I did not pass out anyworksheets. I took up the homework page given on Friday. Please turn that in upon your arrival back to class.
Absent 16/9 (sept): We reviewed ser vs estar by creating a shopping bag. Each letter in the word SHOPPED stands for a reason to use SER. We also examined Estar with the word: EGLE (eagle). We completed two activities on ser vs estar , recieved a handout of notes, and attempted to listen to a song (it didn't work) - ask me about the ser and estar handouts upon your return.
Absent 17/9 (sept): We talked about SHOPPED and completed an exercise trying to examine the differences between ser and estar. Students completed it but I did not take up the activity. We completed the front side of the previous day's Ser vs Estar worksheet.
Absent 18/9 (sept): We watched an odd video and completed a narration about it in the preterite tense. We turned in our homework. When you're back, you should ask someone what was the video clip about or make arrangements to come see it. I took up the narration.

lunes: Complete p.124-125 AP Whitebook and p.101 - 102; Complete the backside of the worksheet we did in class.
martes: Complete the AP whitebook pages if you haven't done so yet. Make sure your essay about post it notes is ready. Complete on p.53 - questions 1,2,and 3 of La Siesta del Martes.

Absent 14/9 (sept): We completed a vocabulary sheet about La siesta del martes. We then discussed and completed a worksheet which was a summary of the story and then began sketching the best example of personification which was the Sun. If you did not read the story, be sure to do so before coming back to class. Ask me about the vocabulary worksheet as it will be to hand in for a grade, as well as the summary sheet.
Absent 15/9 (sept): Today we completed a character sketch of all the personajes in the story, La siesta del martes. We filled in a graphic organizer with the notes we took on the board. You will need that information in order to be able to complete the homework for tonight.
Absent 17/9 (sept): We completed several activities in which we turned in. You'll need to make up the listening and speaking part. See me for arrangements. We completed Dialogue 4 and 5 on p.4 of the white book; p.203 was the speaking. Then we completed the reading on p.46 and 47 (page check).
Absent 18/9 (sept): I took up the homework. We completed a speaking activity on p.228 of the whitebooks. You'll have to make that up so on your return, please make arrangements.
